More than likely wasn't reset at last change. How long has it been since last change? If light wasn't on they my not of reset counter at time of oil change.

I agree - mine came on about 2k after an oil change once, and I attributed it to not having been reset. Guess we should feel lucky they remember to put new oil in...
I change my own oil (don't trust my local dealer) so I know it was reset by me. It was my 24k change and now I'm at 28k and it's on. Driving habit hasn't changed.
