Did two 12 hour runs over the Holiday, from DC to Birmingham, Alabama and back. Loaded with 5 people and a rack in my hitch with maybe a hundred pounds plus whatever fit behind the third row, so pretty well loaded. Weather was cool, raining on the way down, cool and dry on the way back. Trip computer said 15.7 MPG on the way down, 18.5 MPG on the way back. Not sure they are correct, however. The trip is 764 miles each way plus a few miles for pull-offs. The truck used about 38 gallons on the way down, about 34 on the way back which would be more like 21 and 22 MPG, much better than the trip computer showed.

Both ways had cruise set to 76 MPH most of the time.

My experience has been that the on-board trip computer for my DD (and the wife's Volvo XC90) run about 5-10 percent high. Thus, if the computer says 22 mpg it is really closer to 20 mpg if you use a pen and paper to calculate it.

Have 2011 Durango Hemi R/T. 30,000.miles. Tires Pressures set at 39 Cold.
Like the ride a little stiff. Use 89 Octane Gas.

Love this SUV, Had it since July.

Thanks for all Replies!
On one 3 hour trip on a relatively flat (but not completely) four lane state highway with no wind my 2012 Hemi D got 23.5 MPG. That was with only 5k miles on it and with three adults and luggage. Same trip I got over 22 MPG on a 6 hour stretch. Only mod is a K&N filter. I can get even higher mileage by using the adaptive cruise to draft semis, but that annoys them.

I drive mostly highway day-to-day and average around 16 MPG winter, 17.5 MPG summer.

I dont know where you are located but if it is a cold area and they use winter blended gasoline, That is really good. My D has dropped to 16mpg highway since the blend has changed at station.

Just did another short trip from St. Louis to Arkansas; around 500 miles round trip. I was at 21mpg even. I used 89oct and didn't reset it from my day to day city driving.

A week after I picked up my 14 Limited V6 I got 625 miles to 3/4 tank of gas. It was great. About 50 degrees and all Highway over 5 days.

I've got 33k miles, running a drop in K&N and full synthetic oil (since first oil change which was performed at 2,500 miles). Not sure why mine seems to get really good mileage and I don't feel like I drive it softly (certainly not according to my wife).

Spoke with a member here who told me that he is able to get 550 miles to a tank of gas. Didn't know all the exact variables on temp, tire so in and soforth so iI figure I'm doing a trip from Long Island, NY to Raleigh, NC let's see if it is really possible plus it was my first big road trip with the D. I set it on the adaptive cruise 2 cars going down and 1 car coming up as space and 72mph going down 75 mph coming up, temp in NY leaving about 30 degrees NC was about 68 degrees, tire pressure at all corners (20") 36lbs, everything stock under the hood, 93 octane, wife and daughter plus 6 days worth of snacks and clothing Iwound up getting 18.6mpg on evic and ccalculated said 18.5mpg. 430 miles to almost a full tank of gas. There was about a gallon and a half left to the tank when I filled up in NC.
