It is hard especially how smooth the D drives. I'm trying to drive like a grandpa now. Got a ticket doing 63 in a 45 in my other vehicle(was just trying to make it through an intersection before it turned red) In VA, 20mph over is reckless driving and you can lose your license and do time. Add that with it being I think the only state left where radar detectors are illegal and well just call me grandpappy

Oh and 900 miles on the D so far and best evic was 19.3 on a highway run.

I'm a little disappointed as well. You really have to drive 55-60 on the highway to get 21-22 mpg. But at 70 the best I get with the Hemi is 20 and that is after I put the Volant on.

You needn't feel bad about 20mpg when you see many 2014 V6 SUV's struggling to do 22-23mpg. For 5300 lbs, these things do surprisingly well. Good gas economy was never Chrysler's strong suit.

I just did NYC to Orlando, FL and back for a total of 2,200 miles. I played with the octane a bit (87/89) an got 18 mpg's, that's with 80 mph on through every state except DE and VA and spirited driving for passing. Tires were at 40psi. Filled up 3 times.

On the way back from FL I was doing 65-70, because I didn't want to come back, and was averaging 22-24 mpgs on the FL Hess 89. Then in SC I couldn't drive that slow anymore so I went back to 80 mph and spirited driving for passing. I averaged between 20-21 mpg on Shell 89. Filled up 3 times.

My impressions: 89 is a must, driving between 60-70 will give the best mpg, ACC is awesome, overall great SUV to take a road trip.

For all you guys wasting your money on premium in your V8, winter or summer I can get 20 on the highway with 87 octane gas, running between 70-72 mph with a load of 4 people and all their stuff.

I hate the way my D runs on 87 and I got 1 to 2 mpg's less with 87 then 89.

Default Guzzler!

Flew down to the dealership Sunday, picked up our '13 R/T and drove the 350 miles back home. Speed limit here is 80 mph. This beast really struggles not to gulp the gas at those speeds. I might not have done enough research before buying this thing. Showed it to my wife and she had to have it. My '06 Charger R/T gets 25+ mpg at 75-80 mph. I know the Durango is heavy but I didnt think it would make the mileage sub 20!

Yep, over 65 you lose 10%+ even with the 8 speed.

His and Hers its not even close to broken in yet. It will Improve a little over what you are seeing. That computer is restricting power a bit right now and fattening up the fuel ratios a bit right now to get it broke in nicely.
Great Choice lets see some pictures
