Tail lights tinted by blackedoutlights

If you were to be in an accident and "rear-ended", do you feel that there is any risk of the liability shifting to you because of modified tail lights? I only ask this because I want to do it and am slightly concerned that I'm going to hit the tipping point that starts racking up tickets or opens up liability.
You still have the third brake light as well that they can see just fine.

I hate to be a killjoy but any modification to factory taillight lenses could result in: a ticket, an accident, insurance denying your claim and a lawsuit that you would lose.
It's cool if you're 16 and have nothing to be sued for, but once you have money in the bank and stuff that can be taken away, tinted taillights start to not look so good

Ouch. I had NOT intended to tint my taillights but nonetheless appreciate you posting that story, if only to get all of us thinking about the possible consequences. Scarey for sure.
