DodgeRT13,

To be compliant with NHTSA, we send out interim letters to customers notifying them that there is a recall on their vehicle when the parts are not yet available and/or a fix has not yet been identified. In this case, the parts have not been secured yet. We are working hard to secure the necessary parts and you will be notified once parts become available.

mmark27,

Thanks for the update! Please refer to my note above to DodgeRT13 if you have any questions regarding parts availability.

I got my notice that I have a defect, they don't have parts....and we all hope I don't die from it in the meantime.

I just bought my (used) 2011 Durango in February. When I enter my VIN in to the Dodge site it says this recall applies to my vehicle and is still "open" but I have not received a letter. Is there any way to get my information in to the system so I get mailed future recall notices?

Generally they find out through vin searches through vehicle registration to determine whom is the current owner. That is what they do here a Mazda and Im guessing elsewhere. You can bring your D to any dealer to have it fixed and at the minimum they will then have your info in the system for any future recalls/issues.

Thank you for the information. Since I bought it at a Dodge dealership I figured the records would have been updated....

There is no real up to date coordination between the C/D/J/F dealerships FCA and or Mopar. The dealerships can do anything to your vehicle or not.And can write up any work order or not. The only real source of up to date info. on your vehicle, is FCA and the owner of the vehicle.

When I bought my DD I called Chrysler Customer Service and informed them that I was the second owner and they put my truck in the system with my address and now I am receiving all the recalls.

Hi Rod,

If you PM me your VIN, contact info, and address I can look into this for you.

Has anyone gotten notice that the parts are in for the warranty repair? I'm about six weeks away from a two month trip pulling our camper and sure would like the repair done before I leave.
