Update: just got my DD back. They replaced the transmission and performed a TCM adaptation. In the 20 minutes or so I drove it around on my way home, everything feels good. The service advisor said it's not the first one, and he thinks it's happening to more than just a few. Total time at the dealer: 26 days.
Will advise long term how this holds up.

My 2016 Durango has this problem. I took it to the dealer and they kept it for two weeks! No rental, nothing!
It worked for fine about a week when I finally got it back but the clunk in the down shift came back. I’m looking to get a new car because of it.

According to RockAuto, this is a transmission rebuild kit, including torque converter

Hey just wondering if your vehicle is doing better? I'm currently sitting at the dealership with same issue. Are you in Canada??

I've been monitoring a few other forum users across multiple forums with the same problem. Some are getting new valve bodies, some are getting new transmissions. So far no lasting results.
BTW - I'm in California.

I bought a brand new 2019 R/T on Tuesday. Truck had 24 miles when I pulled out of the lot and I noticed this problem when I came to the first red light after leaving the dealer. It did it several times periodically throughout the first day of ownership and some on the second day. I didn't really notice it yesterday. But after reading this thread, looks like it's a waste of time going back and forth to the dealer to fix it. Been there, done that. This is why I lease these trucks.
