Dodge Cares, why was I told January in December. Now you are saying no ETA. Horrible lip service.

At least it can't jump out of park sitting in my driveway, right? LoL. I used to defend the Dodge brand, but not anymore.

It's now early February 2018. Anyone seeing updates from Dodge on part availability for this recall? Just curious and have a DD that falls into this recall.

if anyone has already paid to have the alternator replaced. keep the receipt as dodge will re-imburse the replacement cost.

I contacted another Dodge rep and was yet again told to wait. She said mid February. So in about 2 weeks we will be told the end of February. And on and on. I am taking mine in and paying for the alternator and PCM and selling it to the first sucker I can find. I am done with Dodge. I have been without my Durango since December. I didn't want to pay for an alternator and have the same outcome so I have been waiting.

I say DUMP the DD if you can afford too. The first to do so will receive the most $$, the last to do so will not.
If you think FCA is going to really care about what you do or don't do now, time to wake up to reality.
FCA already has your $$ in their pocket, FCA will lose nothing.
When you go to buy another brand, someone has already taken your place in buying a DD....your old one or a new one.

You DUMPING your DD will only give you "peace of mind" and just maybe save you some time and $$ down the road.

FCA at this point, doesn't really GIVE A RATS A$$ on what you decide to do.

i would drive it. if it catches fire; i would pull over and let it burn. Your insurance company would go after dodge for the complete replacment cost. No mention in the recall letter that the vehicle is unsafe to drive at present time or should be parked until the recall is done.

If it wasn't unsafe, they wouldn't have engaged in a voluntary recall, in conjunction with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, to address the problem. Make no mistake - IT IS UNSAFE. To say nothing of the fire risk, the vast majority of folks seem to be experiencing the "instant dead vehicle in the middle of traffic with no warning" symptom. Incredibly dangerous. And while I hope no one is injured or worse as a result of this issue, FCA better sincerely hope no one is because their surviving family members will own FCA. But you're right, they don't say not to drive it. Although very few, if any, recalls ever say "you must not drive the vehicle".

And "jimdurt" you hit the nail on the head. In November is was mid-December, mid-December it was January 2018. Mid-January they changed it to "first quarter 2018" which could mean anytime between now and March 31st - although I have a feeling when March 31st comes it'll just get pushed back again. Might as well keep going until July 2018 and make it an even year that the recall has been out with ZERO repairs being made under it's title.

tongue in cheek...don't go full retard.
If your that concerned about it or can't wait ...pay for an aftermarket alternator and fca will reinburse the cost. oem cover this cost all the time on recalls. they don't expect you to sit there not driving your car. you have options.

I'm not "going full retard", I'm just indignant as a consumer. You all should be, too.

I filed a formal complaint with NHTSA today. I will keep you all posted.

I just received an email notification from the FCA Customer Care Recall team that the T36 recall now has parts available (new alternator with improved diodes) and to schedule an appointment with the dealer for resolution.
