Is that by the lie-o-meter in the overhead console or hand calculated because when I first installed mine my MPGs jumped up by like 4 until I reset the PCM and then I started getting real numbers

All of my calculations on done by hand and with my internal calculator, although my "lie-O-Matic Meter" is almost always 2 to 3 10ths off my calculations.

Engine compartment temps are reduced by the ''normal'' flow of air thru the engine bay at any given speed, btw. deleted partial post, pix deleted, my bad.

Well heres an interesting one.

Installed A Volant Air intake into my 08 1500. And before I put it in. the SC Vivid would tell me my air temp would usually be about 5 - 10 F warming then Ambient. Now with this Volant intake in. I saw a gap as much as 30F while sitting at a light. But at about 40mph Im about 15F warming. So now im thinking did i buy a WAI. But also noticed on the Volant. theres a scoop heading down behind the light, But there is also 2 holes at about 3.5 inch diameter that are on the side away from engine, Im thinking on taping those holes shut.

Ideas?

power wire wont cool down the air. like i thought the volant was going to. Its going to lie to the ECU about temperature. Cant see any real gains from that except for making the engine run even leaner???

your half right, it will trick the ecm/pcm.......but the air /fuel are both increased at wot, adding hp. not leaning or riching for that matter. It does nothing harmful to the motor.
