The only sound difference I notice with my headers was louder hemi tick, and mechanical noises from the engine compartment. It changed the tone of sound coming from the tail pipes. My truck is loud inside when I tow with it but I didnt notice it get louder when I did the headers.
I see no point in shortys other than saying you have headers and also get a better look than the stock manis, right?
Just asking because I honestly want to know, is this true? I am about to pick up some shorty's pretty cheap and like the fact I don't have to modify exhaust system, worry about inspection (truck has 18 years left already have dual exhaust and 14x3 intake but if it isn't going to serve a purpose I don't want to waste my time and money?????????????
Finally pulled the trigger on the exhaust today. JBA Stainless Headers, and Stainless MagnaFlow from there back. $830 shipped, should all be here by next week.
do you have to weld all shorties? i am looking at bbk's due to price and better than stock but if they have to be welded i might as well take them to a local shop. thanks

No, you should be able to bolt them up without any welding.
