joe,

i did not have my 2003 moded nor did I have a re-programmer at the time. I think it was just a better running truck.

These 08's seem to give too much control to the computer. Does anyone know if Cali emmisions would have anything to do with the poor results I am having with this Cortex. I live in PA and I believe they have mandated all new trucks purchased in PA must comply with Cali emmisions. Also, how do you know if your truck has the added emissions crap on it?

Scott,

I am still waiting for your guy Sonni to call me back regarding their search for spark knock. He was to call me back on Thursday at 6:15 pm with no call till like 7:30 pm at which time I was involved in something else. I told him I would call him when I was finished. I finally was able to return his call at about 9:15 pm at which time we agreed he would call me back at 6:15 pm on Friday. Well it is 5:00 pm Sunday afternoon and still no word from Sonni.

I sure am glad I purchased this thing. So far it has cost me approximately $380 and alot of time spent waiting for Superchips to call me. With Superchips only being open till 5:00 pm eastern time it is tough for working people having tech problems to get results. I do appreciate Sonni's willingness to call me on his own time.........I just wish he would call when HE says he will.

I built a home made CAI using a K&N filter for about $50 which has made more of a difference in performance than this reprogrammer. I sure don't see where Superchip's ad saying you will experience "Holy crap performance" comes from.

Let me know what you want me to do now. I just don't want to screw around too long so I am unable to return it.

Craig

I was out doing some data logging today and noticed this plug on the bottom of my cortex. Anyone know what it is for bc it is not the plug for updating the programmer. Sorry about the bad pic but I only had my phone handy.

Sil,

In a previous post you wrote:

"My 2008, since I disabled MDS, runs just as hard as my 2004 (comparing both with aftermarket muffler, CAI and Superchips). I couldn't say that prior to hitting the break in period and disabling MDS. I can spin the tires loose and can scratch it in second.

I run the 91 tune. I have my rev limit set at 6400 and 1-2, 2-3 at 5950, 6050.

Are you saying that from a dead stop without having your foot on the brake you can spin the tires loose and chirp them in 2nd gear as a result of your re-programmer?

Thanks.

Yes, no brake needed. I have a 2WD Quad Cab.

On another note, Superchips is pretty good about taking a return if you're not completely satisfied. I wouldn't worry about that part while you're going through this process with customer service.

Not to go off topic but since you have an 03' have you done the TMR Delete Mod yet?

breaking loose depends a whole lot on everything else you got going on your truck. like your tires. even the weather plays a role, and the surface you're on. I've laid down an 80 foot strip (no lsd ) , and other times I can't hardly chirp it.
