These truck are so individual it doesn't surprise me, some guys had problems with the light staying on and the anti lock brakes not working. I wouldn't worry as long as everything works, probably just the PCM running a check.?

yea I hope so. I also was checking for knock today...Question. There is two parameters getting measured when Im doing this. (cant remember the acronyms) anyway, the first on starts of @15 and fluctuates around a little as Im driving around and the other stays at zero. Is this normal? Or am I getting knock just driving?

Both ST and LT KR should be at 0. The STKR is what really should be looked at as it should not go above 3* to 4* of Knock. Any more and you can damage things. 15* on either of them is not good. What gas are you running and what tune are you running? Did you mess with the timing or the WOT fuel trims?

No I havent messed with anything, besides the throttle sensitivity is set a +10. I filled up twice with 90 (thats the highest I can get in Alaska) and I put the 91 tune on just to see if it will take it, thinking I could pull some timing out of it if its bad. I just wouldnt think it would be knocking just driving around lightly. I would like to run a 89 tune but no such thing.
OK so I just went out and put in the 87 tune. Guess what? Im getting the same readings. The number that fluctuates reads 15_knk_max_tot_ret. The 15# is at idle and goes down as more input on the throttle. I have no movement or reading on KNK_TOT_RET. So that makes me feel better that it reads the same on both the 87 tune and 91 tune. If I had more time I can put the stock tune back in and see what the readings are. The truck pulls hard and shows no signs of knock..Im a little used to reading scan tools and knowing how bad knock can be on a motor (I own a Turbo GN.)

Let me see if I can find what parameters to log for that the guy I use for custom tuning looks at. Are you using just the DSP or is it hooked up to a laptop?

Log these PID's with the DSP and a laptop:
KNK LT RETARD deg
KNK ST RETARD deg
KNK Sensor 1 Voltage
KNK Sensor 2 Voltage
ACTUAL SPK CYL1 deg
BASE SPK deg
RPM
MPH
Look at the ST KR and the KNK Sensor Voltages. The ST KR is the bad one.
Also, if it is doing it at idle or part throttle you cant adjust it via user settings, the Spark and Fuel adjustments that can be made with the DSP are for the WOT settings. I do know that a while back with the older CROMs (Revisions) that Diablo released there were some files that caused a lot of KR at part throttle and at idle on some model years. The 09's had a really bad KNK after the install as well as some 05's and 06's.
