Once you have your baseline, keep track of the mods so we can tell what works. Do you know the wieght of your truck?

Just look at it this way, the mods that make your truck perform will set the lighter trucks on fire.. It'll be good to hear what works. Good luck.

4.7 2wd single cab

before new tb, 0-60 : 8.59 or 8.54 (I forget)
tonight w/ new tb, 0-60 : 8.39 three outta four runs

i say the ported / polished tb did alot, considerin 8.54 was my BEST time before, i usually got around 8.7 ... and with the new tb got a constant 8.39

AZZ0540, Thats a good baseline at 7.91. 6700 Lbs WOW thats heavy man.
Laramie must have 3.92's?

No idea whats my weight is (the truck). Currently at 7.97 with my all my mods and 3.55.s. Plan to install the e-fan in the next week (I hope) so we'll see what that does to improve the old girls performance.

Spend the $$$ and get some gears, 4.10-4.56's either will wake that truck of yours up big time. Those 3.55's are hurting you so much its not even funny.

Truckin is dead on. The gears will even help you get better mileage once you stop racing around lol..... I had 3:55 gear originally and got 16-17 mpg. Installed the 4:10 and 2800 stall converter and I'm still getting 16 on the highway.

DTT and 4.56's that is what I want, Yep, SO THERE I finally got someone to tell me what I really needed to hear. Thanks Truckin151 and RedTruck-Va. I know it's killing me, but it will be about 6 months till I got the dough to do it as I have a Job interview next week which will confirm my retirement from the Army.

Around here it may be hard to find someone I can trust to do the job right. i am sure if I research it and buy the tools I have the ability to do it cause as a general rule no one but me works on my vehicles, but this job should be left to a pro.

I think AlbertaRamfan has a relative with a shop and he is only 250Km down the road, will PM him when ready.

I know exactly how you feel. If you go back through my posts you will see I eneded up at a defunct Dodge dealership. They did a great job on the gears and I went back and had them also install my TC. As the saying goes "it's hard to find good help" I am sorry to say. Good luck..

Id only do it yourself as a very last option. There is just to much that can go wrong if you dont do one thing or another right. The only 2 things I will take my ttruck down to have someone else work on it is transmission work and rear diff work. The rear diff I took down to 4wheelparts and had them install the 4.56's and then my TC I know a couple people that have helped me out and have a shop.
