New Data-Log: Previous Best 7.97 4wd and 8.39 2wd SC 91 Basic Tune.

Ok. So the e-fan was installed today and I had to do 6 runs and a re-tune after run 2 before I was happy with the results, which by the way I got 3.55's and 33 inch tires (measured tires that are listed spec at 33.6) and with those big bioches cannot spin the tires from a straight line launch, so don't have to worry about wheel spin like some of you 5 second range guys (but I can spin a P245 pizza cutter cuz I tried that).

OK. Ya long post but heres the story of my 6 runs (0-60).
Run 1: 8.39 - 2wd - OD Off - Drive - (Reaction) What the e-fan did nothing?
Run 2: 8.05 - 4wd - OD on - Drive - (Reaction) OK close to the 7.97 I got in 4wd with this tune, but I got e-fan, should be faster.

Pull off the road, by the Gym on Base and retune cause 5850 RPM won't cut it.
I remember Truckin saying he goes 6200 only cause he got stock springs. So lets wind out this 6.1 Cam and see. So re-tune perf 91 check, rev limit 6300 check, top speed yes, tire in inches, confirmed at 33 inches, re-tune good.

Now lets manually shift this 03 Forgotten (Runs 3-6 Below are Low 1 shift manually to 2nd)

Run 3: 7.28 - 2wd - OD on -Shift at 6000 Rpm (Reaction) Now thats better than 7.97).
Run 4: 6.68 - 2wd - OD on - Shift at 6200 Rpm (Reaction) Better still but lets see if 4wd makes it better.
Run 5: 7.19 - 4wd - OD on - Shift at 6200 Rpm (Reaction) Oou don't like my new half shafts doin that torquing vibration (light duty and all) So don't have to do any more 4wd launches until traction becomes a problem (when the 4.56 and TQ mods get done later down the road).

So lets do one more to see if OD Off makes a difference.
Run 6: 6.59 - 2wd - OD Off - Shift at 6200 Rpm (Reaction) Oh ya thats alot better than a 7.97. Other info for this run was 0-40 was 3.76 and 0-50 was 4.97 and data saved to the SC under Best Run.

So happy with the e-fan and latest Data-Log times.

Next I might try a run and shift at 6300 to see if that helps.

I realize now that a high rev shift gets you closer to 60 MPH just after the shift than the stock shift at 5850, in my case the way I am set up now.

Sorry bought long post but finally my mods are shaping up.

Imagine what some 456's will do for me. Can't wait. Thanks Guys. Keep Loggin.

Teach, yeah I don't like the look of the painted bumper, it needs a roll pan. I'm going with a hidden hitch so I can still tow.

With your cam, if you have the 6.1 springs as well, you almost need to have the rev limiter up a bit more. The 6.1 cam is a high reving cam, so IMO I would up the rev limiter and increase the WOT shifts up a bit more ONLY if you have the upgraded springs

Yeh I got the 6.1 springs and rods, so whattaya think shift at 6300 and set the limiter at 6400 (currently set at 6300 and my best time shifted at 6200) or say F***it and shift at 6400. If I screw up the shift the limiter will save me right (remember she's an old girl).

Right now I get the best WOT shifts with my 1-2 @ 6100rpm and 2-3 @ 6050rpm but thats with stock cam and springs (for now), With yours I'd probably go 1-2 between 6300 and 6500 and 2-3 between 6100 and 6300 and set the rev limiter between 6500 and 6600... But thats just me, and it would also depend on just how far you are willing to push it.

So set the rev limiter about 100 rpm more than my planned shift. I read somewhere the specs for 6.1, I.E. rev range is up to 6400.

Ok Thanks, we will try the 6300 shift first with 6400 rev limit, if the time improves then I'll maybe be brave and try the 6400/6500.

Why shift lower on the WOT 2-3? as that I will need to do if I try a daring 1/4 mile run.

Are you saying, DSP tuner does not allow rev limiter to be adjusted?
