How fast are the Hemi powered RAM's anyways?

I was reading Motortrends website on Dodge versus Chevy:
"Road Test: 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT Hemi vs. Chevrolet Silverado SS"

Basically is it really that quick, I don't think that a Chevy SS and a Dodge Hemi should be compared but the dodge did post some surprising numbers.


First of all the chevy is made up to be a "fast" chevy witht he SS badging and what not, but i just see the dodge as a regular "no nonsense" truck. I think that it is not within a comparable range ESPECIALLY with the price differences.

Yeah, it's that quick. The RC SWB, 2WD is even quicker. Tried to get an SS to run me on the beltline the other day and he wouldn't bite. He must have known.

 

So what does the QC SWB do? Does anyone know? Im curious now...

I just recently bought the QC SB with the HEMI. Basically what Im saying is no one would even suspect that a truck like ours could HAUL some serious *** stock at least.

I guess its an added bonus to buying the HEMI.

 

I have a 2003 Quad cab short bed with a cap on it... Bone stock it ran the 1/4 in 16.0

The 0-60 time for a QC 2WD are around 8.3 sec. Quarter times are low 15's to upper 15's. Sorry about the brain misfire above. I thought they tested the QC in that test. One difference in the test truck and mine is the wheels. I've got the 17's which are considerably lighter than the 20's which equates to 2 tenths in the quarter from what I've read.

 

When I'm sitting at a light most people will ease up along side of me and atfer they see the Hemi logo they just sit there and do nothing. Unless it's some dumb Kid, then I just blow him away. To stop this from happening to often I just put the hemi logo on the tail gate . Now they don't even come up along side of me.

I wonder if the truck in the test had the 3.92 limited slip...

 

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. I would like to run somebody, but nobody seems to want to when they see the hemi badge.

 

Mine says Hemi Sport on the rear end, so there's no mistaking the Hemi...
