Question Best intake for a 4.7?

Hey guys (and girls/ladies if any are on here),
I bought an 02 ram with a 4.7 in it last april and it came with an air intake so I thought it would save me some money by not having to buy one, but when I took the filter off to clean it I saw that it was some ghetto ebay brand "Aspec" (yay $100 air intakes!)...I feel like it doesn't do a damn thing or give me the power an intake should, I'll step on the gas and the truck will bog down and over rev then finally realize what to do and take off, but not very quickly, almost like it's working harder to move than it should be. Of course this could be caused by anything, but the intake definitely is playing a role in my trucks performance and it's driving me crazy...

I've been looking at many different brands and people have told me to go with K&N, but I've been looking at the Volant Powercore series because it has the box and everything and you can also order a scoop for it that comes out by the bumper where the driving lights are (I don't have driving lights in the bumper so I don't have to worry about them).

I just wanted to hear some peoples opinions on what intake they feel gave them the best performance increase.

I've been looking at these intakes:
Volant Powercore + ram air scoop
AFE Stage 2 CX
K&N 77 Series

i have the volant but without the scoop. it gave the truck better thottle response and really woke up my exhaust. exhaust and intakes really compliment each other. if i were to get a k&n it would be the 57series (plastic tubing, i think thats the 57 series coul dbe wrong) and not the chrome look, just because i dont like chrome on anything , just my opinion though.... i got the volant because i got in cheap and nobody else had it i like to be different...

i have the afe "stage 2". put the intake next to the radiator (further out then the majority of other intakes i saw). the instructions arent that great, but it took a few extra minutes to figure out. not to mention i love the sound (i use to hate the sound of intakes on imports, but love it on mine)

has anyone tried to fit the vararam on a 4.7l yet? It looks like it could be made to fit the 4.7l too. that intake is badass.... as for the inatkes that are put out for the 4.7l they all do the same job, some just look better than others ( cough coughVOLANTcough cough)

Not even close!!! Although I have a K&N as well. Most, if not all you have listed don't flow any better than a home made out of PVC, given that you use a quality cone filter.

Best I've seen yet for gains is the Vararam, Hemi Under Glass, too bad its not made for the 4.7...

They all provide little gain except for noise. I voted Airaid because it is usually the lesser expensive of the choices and is a quality product. You definitely do not want a metal/chrome pipe. Too much heat soak.

I would invest money elsewhere to be perfectly honest.
