Baby the pedal, (DRIVING SLOW) in town....10.8 MPG
FREEWAY(60-75MPH....11.2..... MPG

all with no load, no tonneau cover or anything on the back, tailgate up, now hereis what I have andmy mods.

Hi. My name is Donna. I am new here. I got rid of my Mazda rx-8 for my new 2008 reg cab Ram 1500, 3:55 gears, 4.7 automatic, 1 week old............12.5 mpg. But then again I really STOMP it! [sm=devilangel.gif] I got 200 miles on it now...my new inferno red pearlcoat SXT w/ LSD and tow pkg. Man, this truck really blows away the Ford 150 v-8 I noticed......I have no problem burning rubber. Cool for us, sux for Ford! And no, I don't regret trading in my Mazda although it was very fast.

2007 1500 Mega Cab 4x4 - my first fill up was at half tank and I calculated 10.62 mpgwith a mix of 25% hwy and 75% city - making a road trip from TX to KS next weeknd - I am hoping to do better than 12-13 but I seriously doubt it.

'07 Quadcab - 4x2 - 3.92 rear - Hemi

Best tank so far was 18.1, all interstate driving.
Worst tank 10.1 (in town)

I'm averaging around 13, with a trailer 30% of the time, and 40% city and 60% Highway

I'm not a conservative driver, I like the Hemi and I tend to use it. My foot is very heavy, and I tend to do 10-15 over the speed limit in most situations...

I have a 3:73 rear end - I wonder if regearing to 4:10 or a 3:93 wouldn't be better for mpg since I have gone up in tire size. Anyone got any advice?

'07 2500HD REG CAB Hemi 3:73 LSD Stock 17" wheels and tires, 4200 miles so far.

I'm getting a solid 17mph interstate driving cruising at 75mph. 12-14mph in the city, which can vary depending on if I set it on Tow/Haul or turn off the O/D completely. Sometimes, when I'm really juicin' the Hemi around town with the O/D off, I can almost see the fuel gauge move but man, with the torque the Hemi has, it sure is fun! The Hemi easily equals/surpasses the torque of the old 340 4bbl in my Duster. They're both similar in dimensions and rev to the moon!

2005 Power Wagon first tankfull... 10.11 MPG.

This truck took 29 gallons when the light came on. I guess I have a 30 gallon tank.

I might have been a little heavy on the throttle at times as I just got her and there were lots of short trips less than 10 miles. I think I could get a little better if I tried...

Any thoughts on if the exhaust and programmer will help this out?

I've had this truck about a month and the overhead computer is pretty steady at 13.0 mpg. This is 80% rural hilly twisty roads, 15% city and 5% highway. I expect this to really take a dump once the winter gas mix hits the pumps. Below are the truck specs. With gas nearing $3.00 a gallon here I'd like to improve the 13 mpg a little bit.

Stock I think.
132,000 miles
2003 Hemi 1500 SLT Quadcab 4X4
Tonneau cover
3.55 rear
265/70/R17 tires
