Post Pics of Lifted trucks!
I've always liked the look of a lifted truck that didn't touch the body. I think it looks so clean with the stock bumpers with a big lift and the stock wheels. I hate winches, and custom metal bumpers, light racks, back racks, uh, just all add on junk in my opinion. Nothing looks better than a clean looking truck in my opinion.
and btw guys, how much does it cost to have a shop install a lift (if you dont mind my asking)? im guessing as much as the lift it self
I just have a few questions without making a new thread.. I have a 2WD, and have the Rough Country 3" Suspension lift on right now, and want to go to a 6 inch.
My options are either the 6" Rough Country suspension lift, or the Performance Accessories 3" Body Lift.
Obviously, one is more cost efficient than the other, but I'm asking what you guys would do.
Also, if I do the 6" suspension lift, since my truck has about 85K on it right now, wouldn't I have to get the CST upper A-arms and ball joints?
Just any info on people using body lifts would be appreciated. I heard from a few people that it is bad for your body, but I want all of your opinions. And also, is it hard to install? Thanks in advance.

i don't know what your mean by "CST" upper a-arms and ball joints, but when i installed my lift @ 120k miles i had to replace my upper and lower ball joints both sides, as well as both front hubs because it was all worn out. i used stock replacement upper a-arms, and the are fine 10k hard miles later. one thing that i did have to was install a camber/caster kit because the alignment kept slipping. I installed it myself in about 5 hours, having an impact wrench was a huge help, but it was very easy.
I'm very happy with the RC lift, rides pretty much like stock, although my turning radius suffered a little bit. as far as a 6" vs a 3"& 3" body lift, i think the 6" suspension lift looks way better
I PM'd you the CST link. How much was it to replace the ***** joints/a arms with stocks? Yeah I'm leaning more towards the suspension lift. I just don't really want to have my frame showing and all that. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
the upper control arm comes with a new pressed in ball joint, the are $130 each at napa, the lower ball joints were $65 each at napa, and you can rent a ball joint tool at autozone for real cheap. if you install the lift yourself you do 90% of the work to replace the ball joints and upper a-arms anyways so its a good idea while the trucks apart. The front hubs are $175 each (timken, the good ones) incase you were wondering.

the CST a-arms aren't NEEDED, but if you have the cash they seem like a great upgrade, it really depends how hard our going to beat on the truck off-road. what you will need (i did atleast on my 2002) is a caster/camber kit so you alignment wont slip around, its also easy to install when you put in the new upper a-arms. here's a link:

and with the lift, you need 17" rims minimum with max 4.5" backspacing of the rim will contact the tie rod, i think you could run more backspacing with an 18+" rim but i'm not sure.
on topic - i need to get some pics of my truck uploaded to post up in here... next couple days hopefully
