Thread shouldn't be closed since bleaching a tank is an ongoing social issue and the beauty of a search feature allows you to avoid duplicate threads. Just because the OP resolved his issue doesn't mean other people don't have the same issue. Again, disagreement /= invalidation.

Prolly not, But you would be showing an ounce of maturity. Hey, you do what you want, it's your ride. Litterally and figuratively. I'm not gonna tell you or anyone else what to do. BUT You start name calling the members on here you start name calling ME! Take your juvenile form of justice elsewhere. Thanks.

dodge ram's, the topic of this board, have plastic gas tanks so it doesn't apply to the majority of the readers/members. The comment on the block is your one piece of constructive information

personal opinion/preference regarding mechanics, nothing technical about it

Still not technical, just advise on how to be immature and commit criminal activities

You hit the nail on the head... it's your opinion, not technical

i don't dispute that what happened sucked, i just question what any person here on this board, or yourself for that matter, gain from what you have posted thus far?

for example, if someone were to have this happen to their vehicle and they came on this forum to research what to do, how does any of what you have posted help them resolve their problem?

methods of retaliation won't fix the problem
reading your dislike of your neighbor doesn't fix the problem
reading your thoughts on Karma and proper road etiquette don't fix the problem

Ok, enough of the badgering!

No, there is no reason to close a thread just because it's old, new and pertinent information can always come up.

But, that's about enough of ANY posts that are NOT PERTINENT to this thread.

If you wanna vent about what a dick someone is who messes with anyone else's property, that's what the OFF TOPIC section is for!!! You wanna talk about kicking their a$$, do it there! You wanna talk about how immature it is to go kicking someone's a$$, do it there LONG AS IT DOESN'T ENCROACH ON A PERSONAL ATTACK! You wanna talk smack OFF-TOPIC, that's fine, but you better be prepared for points of view that vastly differ from your own and be able to debate that issue in a courteous manner!

That said, I'm 44 years old and if I could ever prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that I knew who f*cked with my property - I'd be kicking somebody's a$$!!! But that's me AND there is a different sense of justice in south Georgia. Seen many a time a victim beat the living sh*t out of a perpetrator and the cops got real creative in their report, LOL...

and with that, this discussion in this thread is OVER!!!

In our rams, Bleach would most likely wouldn't stay in the lines and engine long enough to do any damage. A gasoline soaked rag does a much better job at disabling someone's vehicle and makes a much more pronounced statement.
This thread has me thinking of a cops episode I once saw.

I learned something and that is to invest in a locking gas cap when driving to a public place...

Will make sure to categorize my posts better in the future if I continue posting. I just figured the best place for a bleaching a gas tank post would be in a thread already about it. Thank you for your support though - when you know who cost you money and time and stress it is certainly not immature or juvenile or childish to turn the table. That's the way the world works, right? Don't want it? Don't dish it. As fun as the idea is of forgiving and forgetting, it's much easier said than done when you're the one on the receiving end of the problem. This isn't utopia, it's life. It is funny though, man, coward won't park in his spot because he is terrified of retaliation (little does he know I already know what car goes there). Anyway, /story

It is an interesting concept so when I first read about the Bleach Problem (On Here) I went out and bought me a locking Gas Cap (Like SLT8).

I was saying that too, but that portion of my post got deleted with my response to nate. I definitely think locking caps are necessary seeing the problems others have had with bleaching and seeing as even I am planning on such a thing. I went out and bought one after this thread. It's all too easy to ruin a car from the inside out, why not spend the few bucks to protect yourself from it? Even if you have a newer car that requires a button to pop the tank cover, you can't tell me that will be any match for a crow bar or a screwdriver (I have an '01 car that has this 'luxury' feature and the mechanism is plastic. Bet if I found the right stick I could even get it open). I don't even remember where I heard about bleaching, but if I heard about it just through the grapevine I'm sure there are MANY others out there who know about it ready and willing to abuse the knowledge at the drop of a hat.

Edit: btw that is one sexy RAM you have going.
