Funny but hunting is the thing that caused me to not hook up a CB in my truck about 20 years ago and I've not had one since.

Besides the advent and popularity of the cell phone, when the little two way radios became so popular, I started using them in the woods and completely got away from CBs.

i mounted mine in the center console. i used a cheap mag mount from walmart for a while but i kept knocking it over on tree branches or if i got above a certain speed the wind would knock it down. i looked around for a different mount but it was impossible to find one that i didnt have to drill holes in my truck to mount. i finally found a mount that attached to the stake hole in the top edge of the bed. it has a steel plate that drops down inside the hole and when you turn it out to the side and tighten the bolts down it grabs ahold of the inside of the bed rail. it works great and has held tight since i bought it 3 months ago. might want to look around for one like it. i got it from a local wireless radio shop. i will grab a pic of it when i go back outside.

here ya go. i found one that i took when i first got it.

hence the two way radios, have had a few sets thru the years, my current ones are Midland 24 mile jobbers. I think they stretch is a bit with the "24 miles" but they are crystal clear at 5 miles.

it never hurts to have another toy to play with in your truck hammer, i say hook it up. worst thing that could happen is you never use it, not too mention if you put a pa speaker on it you can yell at people who go under the speed limit in the fast lane..
