I ain't never had good luck with BFG or Goodyear tires although granted it's been since '94 that I swore off both of them so maybe they are better now. I still think that both are WAY over-priced due to high advertising budget and "name" recognition for what you get.
Got a couple of good buddies who pull heavy, one with Nitto Dura-Grapps on his diesel and he swears by 'em. Not the best off-road tread, but they pull hard, are quiet and wear like iron on pavement even with pulling heavy loads.
The other guy has a set of Mickey Thompson ATZs and it looks like he'll get 80k out of them on his commercial heat & air truck. Not the cheapest tire by any means, but I've found Mickey Thompsons and Dick Cepeks to actually work out to be no more cost due to the performance and longevity of the tire.
My "adopted younger brother" has a set of Mickey Thompson MTZ mud tires on his '98 Z71 and he pulls a heavy tractor and attachments on a big dual axle trailer during the week and hunts and fishes in the deep south Ga. muck on weekends. Couldn't get two sets of Maxxis BuckShots to last 20k without going bald and is currently at about 35k on his MTZs with good tread left...

That was my issue as well as belt issues, bad cupping and very uneven wear. The dealer kept blaming my truck, but a switch to my first set of Mickey Thompson tires (old, Baja MTXs no longer in production) and the problems went away with NO other changes made to the truck!!!
I just don't think BFGs nor Goodyear Wranglers are a "workin' truck tire" even with a manufacturers "E" load and heavy ply rating...
