2 wheel to 4 wheel conversion?
you are wanting to do a 2wd to SFA 4wd conversion? Its been done, but a ton of work. A ton. I havent seen it done with leaves though. Why do you want that? Why not coils like a 2500
You will need another vehicle while this one is down and thousands to do it (not to mention tons of time and you must fab and weld).

For now i would just do the suspension work. Then savin more money up gettin the drive train and electrical. Coils would be okay but less fab for leafs. No different than doin a sas on a chevy or yota.Done both. I havent seen one with a leaf setup so im curious. And maybe a airbag setup in the rear?
There is someone that just did it on this forum, he used leaf springs like you want to.
It doesn't mention but it was a 2wd before.

You have a note on it, yet you want to completely remove the original drivetrain? Hmmmm. My though is if you have enough money to perform this conversion, you probably have enough money to lower the "note" enough to trade it in on a 4x4.
To answer your question, yes, of course ford leaf springs would "work". So would older chevy or dodge springs too. You might want to do some spring rate homework to get a decent ride.
