I would stay away far from it. That is just an idle video. Who knows how it runs in closed and open loop. I don't know what mods you have but i have quite a few with custom tuning and i am about to take the cam out. Its a real high rpm cam that is good in cars and strokers. You will need 4.56/4.88 gears AND 3400 stall and pretty much every bolt on. Then have rev limiter removed so you can shift at 7k. Not worth it on a stock block.

Go with a Comp 260, Crazy Jay.

Soo u say I should get a crazy jay comp 260? I have exaust intake superchip throttle body shift kit idk what gears cuz this guy I bought it from only said it has exaust but I saw throttle body nd shift kit was on it so god only knows wat else it has...it has a lil lope as of now idk if its due to no muffler on my exaust and the exaust is shortened? But u say a comp 260

 

Yeah, the 273 is such a high rpm cam that it really isnt meant for a truck. 7k in a truck to get it into the meat of the powerband just is not worth it. The 268 is a much more friendly street cam with the right mods and if you can tune it, you will still need 410-456's and at least a 2800-3200 stall converter but it will not run with out a tune and without the idle upped or it will stall out. The 260 will run on a canned tune and should have no issues with the superchips tuner, no custom tune needed, it builds it power in the right spots so it should work well for your application.

You can buy a 6.1 cam which you can get for cheap and send it down to inertia for a regrind to any spec that you want, it will give you more options for the cam and still be easily tuneable for your application. If I were you I think I would at least give them a call and see what you can get done to get you the most bang for your buck.

 

So you dont know what gears it has? Thought you said it had 4.10's? Lope is more than likely from the exhaust. Mine had a slight lope with the exhaust only. Also thought you said you had a Borla exhaust, now you are saying you dont have a muffler at all?

 

No I have only the cat in and the borla tips is all I hav I moved it out b4 my tire like a lightning and I made my pipes to 3.5 inch.but about my gears idk how to figure out what I have I have posi...I think 4:10 but my buddy thinks 3:73

All of them will have about the same lope or close to one another. HP/TQ numbers you are going to have to do some research. Start emailing places or calling them and ask. Comp gets back to you real quick, inertia will help you out with pretty much anything you want too.

 

okay thanks if I have 3:73 I can't do a comp 268 but 410s I can pull it off?
