Is spray in bed liner worth it if I am putting a tonneau cover on? (picture)
I just bought an 06 ram with a pretty beat up bed and wondering if I should do anything to the bed if I am going to put a cover on top of it anyways. Opinions? Also, I don't do a lot of gravel driving and keep my ride pretty clean but do you think it would be worth it to do the rockers/bottom inch or two of the outside to prevent future rust or just wait til I have a problem? I want to put my money in the most logical places first before I invest in fun stuff. If anyone has any advice or opinions that would be greatly appreciated.

I used the bed on my 00' Silverado 2500 quite often and only had a warped OTR drop in.
My 07' Ram is a pretty much a daily driver. I got a Line-X OTR spray in and later put a Truxedo Lo-pro tonneau cover over it. Bully tail gate lock(rarely use) and a bed divider have all worked well for what I use it for. Did I need to spend the extra $$$ for the premium spray liner ? Naaa but it's neat looking.

Would I have any problems if I had a cover though because it would hardly ever get wet?? I don't know, it seems like an expensive project to do it right. I found some spray can stuff they use at a buddys shop to do like shelves and stuff, he thinks it would work great in the bed but I'm not sure. The bed won't be used all the time, once a month or so or something like that. IDK, I don't want to do it cheaply at the same time. Ugh!! I just don't see how using the bed rarely and having a cover that there would be future problems but if I'm going to spray in the bed I want to do before buying a cover...
What about the outside, any tips here.. is this a DIY type of job?

Its up to you if you want to see the wear on the bed every time you open the cover. If you can deal with it then don't. Easy as that.
Personally i would do a Bedrug w/ a Tonneau cover. Ran that setup for years and was great.
Feel of a big "trunk" and i still hauled garbage/debris/dog food. Quick vaccum wash and it was good as new. Ran this for 4 years until i wanted to do some weight reduction so took the cover and bedrug off and had it lined over the rails for $250.
