I used an extension that had the socket end head designed to let the socket swivel a little, but not an actual swivel. I also use a piece of rubber vacuum line to start the plugs straight in the threads.
LOL! Thanks weedahoe for the tip, but I don't know if a lift kit is in the near future. Mrs. Flagman has a hard enough time getting into it as it is, and that's with side steps!
I am curious about the rubber vacuum hose though. Is is that hard to get the new plugs properly threaded?
Jeez, just stick with the copper-type plug. Why spend $80 for plugs you have to remove in 30-40K?
Well the entire point of using Iridiums vs standard coppers is that you don't have to replace them at 30K as you do the coppers. So you may spend more per plug but you get 3X's the service life out of them. So 48 copper plugs( 3 sets of 16 ) X $2.50 each = $120.00 OR 16 X $8.00 each = $128.00.
You can go 100K on Iridiums in a healthy engine. On a vehicle like the HEMI Ram where plug changes are such a pain it can be worth it to many people to get 3X's the service life out of 1 set of plugs. It is a higher investment on parts initially but over the full 100K the Iridiums last it basically is a break even situation on parts. Labor saved( yours or that you pay for )heavily favors Iridiums.
