Disconnect the electrical connector from the TB and use either a 8mm or 10mm to take out the four screws on the TB. Then use NON-CHLORINATED brake cleaner to clean the throat of the TB but nothing the outside or electronics.

FI cleaner is subject to opinions on which is best. Be sure to check out our FAQs, How To's and DIY's

Yep, that works.
We had some bad fuel in our area a few years ago that had a high sulfur content that caused fuel sending units to fail as well as many pumps. I found that the best cleaner for fixing these sending units without removing them was the Chevron Techron in the black bottles. I have used it in my Mustang for years and never had an injector issue. I just swapped them out for larger ones not long ago and at 165K+ miles, they still worked great.

Today's fuels usually have some cleaners in them. As a rule of thumb, I usually add a bottle of Techron to the gas tank every 3K miles when I change the oil.

A Sea Foam dose often has some benefit. Don't get brake cleaner in the electrical bits. Make sure the motor assembly stays dry. If it's really grungy, it may need some toothbrush action. The backside of the butterfly will be the worst.

If ya wiped it clean, then the dealer won't do any more to it. If you haven't done spark plugs in 40K, they are overdue.
