Default advice on flowmasters

i am going to have to replace my flowmaster on my truck. my question is, which FM is more aggressive sounding, the super 40 or super 44? the clips on the FM website aren't helping me, they have the different mufflers on different vehicles. what say you?

Default 40 series

I have the 40 series on my Hemi.. They are supposed to be the loudest.. I think they sound pretty aggressive..

Aren't the 44 series Delta Flow? This in my opinion makes them quieter and less aggressive (mainly for big blocks)

What do you have on now ??

i have the 40 delta i THINK. i know its not a super 40. the damn thing has rusted out and so has most of the exhaust pipe. too much fishing time, even after thorough rinses every trip! From the FM website..."The Super 44 delivers a powerful rich tone and is the most aggressive, deepest sounding, highest performing four-inch case street muffler we’ve eve built!" and it comes in 409S stainless so it shouldn't rust. i think this is the route i will go. but still value opinions.

There are mufflers out there that sound just as good/aggressive as rustmasters without being nearly as restrictive and that don't rust out...

I can't vote for either since both are restrictive, rust prone crap.

if you just want noise, and want to change it again in a couple of years, then the 40, if you want good flow and something that will last, I must recommend Magnaflow from personal experience.

Nether will help gas mileage much. I get a little better mpg with the stock exhaust for 2 reasons. 1, I turn on my MDS because I can't stand the sound of it on with the Magnaflow(or any other loud muffler) 2, I tend to use the loud pedal more than I should with the nice sounding Magnaflow exhaust on the truck

The Magnaflow flows quite a bit more. Here is a chart of CFM by Hammer: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...mparisons.html

As a general rule, shorter will be louder.
