I got the magnaflow Y-pipe and muffler welded in this morning. I decided to leave the resonator for a week or so and see if I want to delete it. I was surprised at the noise level, it is a lot quieter than expected. Here are some pictures and a video if I can get it to work.

I gave 110.00 for the muffler (12259) and the Y-pipe shipped to my door. I went to the local muffler shop this morning to see if they could bend me a pipe to go from the drivers side to the new Y-pipe. The guy said he wasn't very busy and would weld it all in and for the labor, new pipes and hangers it would be 65.00, so I decided to let him do it. I have 175.00 in this set-up and he said he would cut out the resonator and weld in a replacement pipe for 25.00 if I decided to go that route later.

That's a pretty good price. I paid $100 to have it all welded in and I thought that was cheap, but that included my guy deleting my resonator. I kept it just in case, but I love how the truck sounds so I think I will just recycle it.

I was a bit surprised when the guy told me 65.00 to weld it all up with the extended pipes and new hangers. I expected at least 125.00 and was fully prepared to do it myself in the driveway on the ground, but for that price I gladly let him do it. I think he done a great job also and may go back and let him delete the resonator next week or so. I really don't want it to be too loud, but was surprised at how quiet it is now. It really isn't much louder than stock in person. I am happy though and know it has to be flowing better than the stock Y-pipe and muffler.

Cool, the 18" magnaflow will be certainly be louder than stock if you remove the resonator. I have a 14" on my v6 and it's really too loud, but I got used to it. If I did it again I would go w/ at least an 18", maybe something bigger to quiet it down even more.

Just an update, I did not reset the computer yet but did reset the overhead mileage and it has gone from 12.9 average to 14.6 average with the CAI and exhaust mods. I have put about 200 miles on it since and can feel an improvement in power and response but it isn't a great improvement. Saving for a superchips tuner now.
