Default MDS standard?

Hi there, Super new to Dodge here.

Just a quick question for you all. Is the MDS system standard in all 2007 5.7 Hemi's? Also, whats the consensus on the MDS system?

Thanks

If my facts are correct, the MDS system was first offered in the 2006 model year. For the Ram truck line, it was standard issue on 1500 series 5.7 liter "Hemi" powerplant trucks. It was not offered on Mega Cab, or heavy duty series Rams (2500 and 3500 series). The Mega Cab 1500 is on a 2500 series Ram platform.

My 2007 Ram 1500 quad with Hemi has the MDS system, and I think it is absolutely useless. I wish my truck did not have the system.

That is correct. ALL '06+ non-MegaCab 1500 Hemi trucks have MDS.

Most don't like it, some do. Guys who have disabled their MDS system usually claim getting about the same gas mileage with all 8 cylinders running all the time. A few say they can get 1-2 better mpgs with MDS while a few actually claim better MPGs in city driving without it...

it is also disabled when in tow/haul mode, but this locks out 5th gear and delays the 2-3 and 3-4 shifts.
