Fuel chip vs. colder range spark plugs
I have a 2007 Ram 1500 Laramie with a hemi and trying to figure out how to get the best fuel economy out of it for highway driving. The Bullydog fuel chip system has been recommended to me but I know they don't work as well with gas vehicle as with the diesels, however it also acts as a diagnostic tool so would save me the $130 diagnostic charge if anything goes wrong. A different performance shop recommended changing the spark plugs to the colder range ones and said that they see a difference of 200-250 km per tank doing this. I don't know if I believe it would make THAT much of a difference and mechanic friends of mine tend to agree. Has anyone used these spark plugs or anyone have advice or an opinion either way?

Colder spark means more unburnt fuel so that's a no-go. If anything you'd want the hottest burning plug possible. Hotter means leaner which means best mileage. I'd stay away from altering the plugs heat range as the Hemi is pretty fussy and would run like a pile of turd!
Bullydog..bad for the Hemi...good for the Cummins.
Superchips tuner for basic mods such as CAI and exhaust. For your 2006, I'd opt for the SC tuner and get the advanced trans tune., It blows the comp away! Look HERE
If your more into heads/cam engine mods, then I would suggest a Diablosprt Predator as they have the ability to custom tailor tunes for individual needs depending on your heads/cam..etc.

Take a look at your fuel cost/mile and figure how long it would take to break even on any chip upgrade. Unless you drive 40K/year, it'll likely take a couple of years just to reach the break-even point.

One of the best mods for fuel mileage is installing an electric fan, and getting rid of the cluth unit-----frees up some parasitic loss for horsepower----which ----if you keep your foot out of it, gets you better gas mileage--then headers and exhaust----the tuners work good too---I really like my diablo.
Changing the plug temp is a reaaly bad move---the hemi really seems to like and run best with the stock coppers until you get into some really heavy mods-----but it doesn't sound like you are looking for extremely radical at this point
