Default BEST HID and LEDs to get

Looking for some tried and true HID and LEDs for my new truck. Just wondering what brand has the most bang for the buck, and what looks sick.

I was thinking 5000k or 6000k for the HID...both headlights and fog lights. I've seen a couple brands, but I don't know what's good and what's not.

Also any ideas for improving the interior lighting?

Also looking to put a CD/DVD player into the truck...pretty sure a double din is out, but just seeing if anyone has some experience with putting in these systems, and if they have any problems.

HID lights should not be installed in factory lamp units due the light refracting. HID require new lenses in order to work properly. I know from experience.

I second that, can't tell you how many times some a$$-hat will be rolling down the road here thinkin he is so cool because he is blinding people with pretty blue lights.

Personally I will be going with Retrofit Source for all my HID needs. Second hand experience shows me they are best in terms of product and customer service. Pricey, but well worth it.

These are part of the #2 item on my christmas list to myself...

Right, right. That same info holds true for LED bulbs, OP I'm assuming your talking about LEDs for tails and front turn lamps. Now the stock bulb housings are made for incandescent bulbs, which have practically full coverage for light distribution. Now there are $50 LED bulbs that have 40 - 60 actually diodes arranged all around the base of the bulb to give off a really good light pattern (also some really awesome patterns like the switchback bulbs) that will work and perform near stock performance with stock bulbs when you factor in everything. So for the best HID performance you need a new bulb housing designed for HIDs and for the best LED performance you'd want a new tail light housing designed with LEDs.

On a safety note, I don't think I've ever seen a cheap LED bulb in a incandescent bulb housing that still stays visible in direct sun.
