Default interchange 3rd Gen with 4th Gen

I just got rid of my little 98 Dakota for a 3rd Gen Quad Ram.
I almost bought a 4th Gen, but got a great deal on a 2005.

There are a few things that I liked on the 2011 and wanted to know if I could interchange the parts to a 2005.

#1 -- Cup Holder (4th Gen pop out cup holder) will this bolt up to a 2005 Quad RAM? I don't smoke and prefer having someplace to place my phone. I see there is a side plastic molding that I would need off a 4th Gen as well but my question is if the cup holder module will directly bolt in?

#2 -- OEM Rubber Slush Mat (4th Gen front/rear mats) eBay is full of the rubber mats, I don't really like the Husky or weathertech "plastic ones". I'm looking for a one piece over the hump rubber mat for the rear as a matching set for the front. They look like they would fit in both front and back.

#3 -- Visor (fold down visor Driver/Passenger) -- what years interchange with 2005. The Visor on mine is trash, but it seems like an easy fix.

#4 -- Tailgate (4th Gen Tailgate) -- 4th Gen tailgate is sweet, i saw a post that the dual exhaust bumper wouldn't fit but what about the tailgate?

#5 -- Side Mirrors (4th Gen power mirror) -- I saw a post that the mirrors are generic and interchange, just double checking since I'm making a post myself.

These are things that would be on my eBay wish list if they interchange.
I've searched thru the forums but didn't really see too much on swap outs.
Thanks for any help.

Welcome to DF and congrats on your first post!

Unfortunately, None will interchange

2002-2005 are interchangeable for the parts you are talking about

Some parts off 2006-2008 (i.e. tailgate and side mirrors) will work for 2002-2005 as well, but 2009+ 4th Gen is a total diff. animal. Sorry to burst your bubble, but POP.
Also, read through some posts as a few of your questions have already been answered. If you search within the 3rd Gen section and do a 4th Gen or 2009 search, you'll come up with all those threads that talk about it, but at this point there is no point cuz they don't fit.

I have the weathetech mats on my 07' QC and love em !

Had them in my Silverado and Grand Am Gt prior too.

PS the fronts are plastic on my Ram....but the rear(1 piece) is rubber-like and came folded in the box.

The only thing that's interchangeable is the driver.

That's amazing that you can't exchange tailgates, when I've seen half a dozen 3rd, and 3.5 gens with 4th gen tailgates. *shrug*

It is indeed. I'm modeling my truck after it (except mine will be red and black with an srt hood. I have the tow mirrors, and 4th gen tailgate in the garage waiting warmer weather to get a few coats of duplicolor and clear.

Was it an even swap? No changing mounting locations or anything? Doesn't look quite flush, especially on the lip, but DAMN... that's a good looking truck!

I've never tried one myself, so please tell me, are the 4th gen tailgates feather-light like Fords are? Or, are they heavy and weigh a ton like the 3rd gen Ram? First time I closed the tailgate on the '05 F-150 work truck at my old job, I got yelled at because I slammed it so hard. I was used to having to muscle my own tailgate on my truck.

The lines are a little off, but nothing I think people would notice on a 4x4 (they're not expecting tight gaps like a Lexus). With a little sheet metal working skill you could smooth it up a bit. I haven't test fit it yet, just picked it up last week from a guy with a 4th gen that put a 5th wheel tailgate on his truck, so he didn't need the stock one anymore. I'll post up some pics when I get it on. As for the weight, it seems to be the same as my 3rd gen.
