And no log style headers if you want them just keep the stockers on. No real power gains with them.

The problem with the long tubes is that I was told by pacesetter and other people that you CAN NOT keep yours cats if you have LT's. Is this true or not ? And if so are hedman and JBA my only choices for a ceramic stainless shortie for the 5.7L with the exception of the GIBSON LOG ?

I have my cats installed on mine. Just need.some Fab work to get the stockers to fit. Or you can buy high flow magnaflow cats at the right pipe.diameter and add them in. The kicker is if you have to pass emissions via inspection then they will not work. Another Shorty option is the edel Brock TES headers.

Gee that's funny, I have Pacesetter long tubes and my cats are still on. But I was also told via email by Pacesetter and a bunch of "in the know" performance shop people that you couldn't.

Which is why I got hell bent on installing mine and keeping the cats, LOL...

BTW, I bought stainless and STILL had a local shop ceramic coat them. If you don't get stainless and don't get the coating, you'll be yanking them and getting another set in 3-5 years. But even with stainless, the temp and exhaust scavenging is much more efficient with the coating...

So hammer if I go with pacesetter long tubes are you telling me they WILL fit into my stock cats (2005 ram 1500 HEMI) ? And I dont wanna bottom out with long tubes. Keep in mind I will be doing the McGaughys lowering kit (2"F/4.5'R). I guess there are so many things wher eyou have to do fabrication, or not I am just frustrated. I drew a picture of what I am looking for so if you want me to email it to you just let me know. But basically I want headers that can fit in my stock cats (I need to pass emissions) that are stainless and coated. (I am not to concerned about the white pipe (because a 2005 is 3" anyways). Then from the Catback I want a flowmaster dual side exit system behind rear wheels but substitute there HD 50 SERIES with a CHERRY BOMB EXTREME muffler (However the cherry bomb is 4 inches shorter in length). Then I am adding a Mcgaugys lowering kit that is 2"F/4.5"R so I am hoping that any after market parts dont bottom out such as the muffler and exhaust and possibly the headers depending if they are to long or not. So I am just trying to get this DONE RIGHT. I need guidance.

Can't do no "kit" and expect this to work. The cats will fit with the long tubes BUT have to be moved back about 14" to accommodate them, which also means extending the O2 sensor wires. Gotta do a bit of fabbing/cutting/etc. but very do-able. Nothing sits any lower than it did stock, in my case anyway...

If I chose do to do shorties to leave the cats where they are for the easier install what are a few options you would suggest for what to buy. And check this for me. Can I use the Mcgaughys #44003 kit and lower it down and still be able to install the flowmaster #817397. I am worried becuase of the flip kit the leaf springs will mess up the rear pipes on the side exit. Or will those two model's work together ?

Personally, I wouldn't f*ck with shorties on a Hemi. Some engines benefit at the low end from shorties, but any dynos I've seen don't show any real torque gains and maybe 3-5 HP in the mid range on this engine. Interestingly, shorties on the 4.7 show pretty decent gains. I think the Hemi just has better scavenging stock than the 4.7 does. Not worth the expense or trouble on a Hemi IMO.

Besides, by going with a chambered muffler, while it may sound good, you're gonna give that 3-5 HP gain right back anyway...

Drop it then worry about the exhaust piping. If there is a style that you are after then take it to a shop afterwards and see if they can replicate the piping.
