Highway Tires ?
I have been searching the threads for suggestions on highway tires. I found plenty good suggestions for A/T 's. I have 275 60 20 Wranglers right now on my 06 Hemi. That will be the last set of Wranglers on my truck. I am looking for smooth ride and good wet grip tires that are quiet. About the toughest thing I use my truck for is pulling my ski boat, 20' Caravelle. I will appreciate any suggestions.
Out of my area of expertise, but I have a good friend who has a Nissan Titan who has had a set of Firestone Destination LEs on it for about 4 years and 60k miles who swears by this tire. Reviews have always been top notch as well. Just looking at all the siping and channels I would imagine it would be a fantastic rain/wet pavement tire.

I have a cousin in upstate NY who has the slightly more aggressive Destination A/T who also swears this is the best tire he's ever owned...

Bridgestone Revo2s here. Very good grip in the rain. Good lateral grip, too. I had some Destination LEs on my Gen II. Bought 'em used - $120 for the set. They seemed fine. I traded it with them still on.
The nice thing about that is that Japanese Bridgestone now owns Firestone, so you can look at both in the same store...
I don't think so, Bridgestone was started in 1931 in Japan by Shojiro Ishibashi, and it's primary function at that time was to make tires for the military vehicles/planes/etc. for Japan's war machines. The name Bridgestone is a loose translation for the company's Japanese name of Ishibashi, which means "stone bridge".
Firestone was started in Ohio by Harvey Firestone in 1900 to make tires for buggies and wagons of the time. They became the tire supplier to Henry Ford and grew rapidly from there.
It wasn't until 1988 that Bridgestone bought Firestone...

Just an update, I compared the Firestones against the BFG Long Trail. After coming across a little better deal and some more advice, I went with the BFGs. I will let yall know how they work out. Thanks for all yall's help.
I had the Long Trails on my Grand Cherokee when I bought it. They were brand new and I suspect the PO had to put new meats on it to be able to sell it (61k on the vehicle). They rode nice and wore well, but I couldn't keep sh*t from puncturing the tread. After I put five plugs in the four tires over less than a two year period, the final straw being when a cut cotton stalk pierced one - YES a lousy cotton stalk of all things!
Now granted, I will opt to fish and camp in my Grand Cherokee (it's also a 4x4), you may not have the issues I had (although two of my punctures were on pavement). I'd still keep a tire repair kit in your truck just in case if I were you. If you don't know how to install a simple plug - learn - it's simple.
I doubt it was just bad luck, I have had my Terra Grapplers on the GC for over two years now, go to all the same places, do all the same things and have yet to put a plug in a single tire. Have had a couple of screws in the tread, but none so far have pierced all the way through. I did however lose a solid 2 MPG when I went to the larger, more aggressive Terra Grapplers...

I put a set of Cooper Discover H/T's on my '02. Wore great, quiet, great traction, were still on it with lots of tread left when I traded it in about 30k miles later.. Just for future reference, I know you already made a purchase.
