Why are Mega's SFA?
Is it due to the wheelbase? Do the extra inches add enough weight to tax the regular IFS? Just curious. It is probably something really simple and stupid that I have been overlooking, but haven't been able to figure out what makes the regular QC 1500 so much different than the MC 1500.
Yeah I dunno why the MegaCab is designated as a 1500 series, it shares nothing with the RC/QC 1500s as far as frame and suspension goes. By shear weight it wouldn't fare well with an IFS front end...
Yea it makes no sense to market it as a 1500. That means it has to pass emissions if its classified as a light duty even though there is nothing light duty about it lol. Plus all it does it confuse the inexperienced owner/ mechanic when work is getting done on it.
Yea, first time I saw one I noticed the 1500 and then looked at the wheels, 8lug on 17's! Big ole truck with 3/4 ton wheels! lol. This one was a relative, I'd post a pic but you'd cry. It caught on fire after a slight wreck in the log woods. They thought it was ok until the tires started blowing up like cannons in war. It also had a fuel tank in the bed. It got so hot the air tank in the bed had a crank and little pistons sitting where the engine was haha.

Well I'll tell you one thing of many I like about my Mega 1500, here in Cali they tax the hell out of 3/4 and 1 tons on the road registration. I still paid $443 last year for my 01 F350. This year because it is badged as a 1500 and even though it is an 06 I paid $283 for my registration.
I wish I could add more as a megacabber, but I would say size and weight needed the SFA & 2500 susp. It's hard to find anything even from Dodge, which states why it's badged as a 1500......
