Good to see you get 312k out of that motor It makes me feel good about doing the same in mine. Not so sure about the transmission????
The Superchips Flashpaq is in the mail and I am currently trying to swap my 22" wheels\tires for some 17" wheels\tires (maybe somebody here will want to swap?). I checked my paperwork when I bought the truck about 8-9 months ago and I think I remember seeing that I have 3.93 gears in it? I will have to double check. If that's the case I think I'll leave the gears alone?

Trust me Granny pressure is the last thing I need. Haha...J/K

I did ground the TB. I used 14AWG wire to ground the TB to the negative battery terminal. I voted on the forum a minimal increase, but it was probably a 20% increase in throttle response. Much better than expected, especially for a free mod, as I had all the materials on hand.

The Tuner is a different story............................................. ................ WOW - PLease see that again, WOW. I installed the 87 octane tune, changed the Spd Limiter, Rev limitier, Tire Size, WOT shift RPM's for both gear changes, and changed the torque management.

Holy Cows Utter, I have never felt the Ram so peppy, so willing to engage, and it listened to every % of throttle I asked of it. No moping, no whining, no crying, and definitely no delay throughout the complete driving experience. Thank God for bypassing mostly every inch of delay I dread everyday.

I started on 87 octane until I could legitamately change to performance 91. The difference between the 2 are impressive, but not life changing. Honestly the tuner is worth the 350 for the just the capability to monitor the engine parameters. Worth way more to create such an active and responsive transmission willing to bring the wrath as demanded, worth even more for the shear power that it created. Between seeing such gains as I have, I'd pay twice as much. Please find me these kind of gains for a gas engine with all the benefits for less than a 1000$. If you think you have, then it is only because I have left out something the tuner has given me. MPG has improved and with less care to the skinny pedal. I whipped a Tundra, a ram 2500, and a (2) F150's in less than an hour. My MPG was better than before all the while. From now on, no matter the forum question or whether I know the answer, I am going to anser with 3865.

As far as the Torque Management, My only option is superchips or stock. I do not have the ability to set a %.

I have documented every setting available in the 3865. I hope it will help any new purchasers of the Superchips products for the Dodge Ram, I will post here and on the Superchips forum.

I had mine re-built @173,000. It started acting funny when first cranked in the mornings, so before it died, I went ahead and had it done.

I probably helped it's earlier than expected failure with a prolonged "idiot extraction", caused by a buddy and a muddy area he had no business being in with a F350 Super Duty.

As for what gears your truck has, there may be a sticker still under the hood that tells you, or a tag on the rear end.

Or you can give the vin to your local Dodge dealer's parts counter guy, and he can print out the build sheet for your truck.

I've also used this link http://www.dodge.com/wccsapp/univers...ull&category=U

Filled it out and put "build sheet request" in the "reason for contacting us" box and they emailed it to me.

Thumbs up

Sorry Guys, I worked on the above for awhile, but I cant get it formatted in a manner that is understandable. I am going to try again, especially for the guys who dont have it. It has alot of features and option in addition to the extra power and performance

Short of that I see no problem with putting a tuner on your truck.

Definitely considering getting one of these after hearing that the 5.9 was de-tuned at the factory...

Honestly, it seems all vehicles were de-tuned from the factory. The only reason I assume Chrysler would come second to an aftermarket tuner according to power and MPG at the same time, would be to not demand the customers use 91 octane fuel, all the time.

Why not say 91 is demanded and get to advertise the extra MPG and HP/Tq.

I believe there were some models and years (not sure about the Ram?) That did demand 91 octane. My brother had a Durango with the 5.9 and it said right on the gas filler door "91 octane ONLY"
