Stupid ?....What is MDS?
Been away for awhile. Trying to catch up, looking at possibly getting a tuner and seen mention of turning off the mds. What is this? What's the benefit? I tryed a search but come up with zilch.
If you are still driving the '04, you don't have it. It is mother Mopar's way of deactivating 4 cylinders in the '06 and newer Hemi engines in an effort to get better gas mileage out of them. AT cruising speeds on flat roads, the engine will shut down 4 cylinders and the truck will run in 4 cylinder mode until the load on the engine calls for more power. Then the MDS will kick off and you'll be on all 8 cylinders again. The reason people shut it off with a tuner is that it really doesn't impact mileage that much, is annoying as hell, and if you have an aftermarket exhaust, your truck will sound like a Lawnboy when the MDS kicks in. There has got to be a better way. If Dodge, (er Ram Trucks), would put a 6 speed transmission in the trucks like Ford and Chevy have done, they could reduce RPMs at freeway speeds and increse mileage in return. Just my .02 though.

That's what Tow/Haul is for! Haha I'm sure they've already thought of it
