It's a schedule 40 pvc electrical conduit. 3" diameter with 18"(or so) bend radius, one side is 3" the other is 4" OD (accepts 3" pipe). I found it in the electrical section at home depot. What I actually ended up doing is using a rafter support bracket that I bolted into the sheet metal on the side of the bay, it supports the bottom and part of the side of the filter. The filter comes down right near the side of the truck, so I'm sure there are a multitude of ways to put support brackets in. But yeah it's nice and stable in there, and I agree, the one pipe looks a lot better
And like everyone else has said the bend is just right, along with the smooth schedule 40, and its far enough away from your engine to not suck in so much heat!
thats sweet, i love the solid bend of the pipe. most have 2-3 pipes glued together but the single one with the bend looks the best and prolly flows more air seeing as how its a gradual curve rather than a 90 degree bend. it is gonna sound sick with an exhaust.
I agree that curve is outstanding. The DIY CAI with 90* hurt performance.
Now to just get a cold can to suround that cone. I think ATI makes them for the Buick Grand National crowd. (looking for the product I mentioned)

As I said earlier, it's electrical conduit, so yeah your plumber friend probably didn't have it. They sell the pipe at home depot, probably other places too, but I haven't checked there.
