Default Tire Questions

I can't stand the shaking of my Pro Comp Xtream AT anymore (they were balance, but used...). Anyway, I'm looking at nitto trail grapplers. From what I've read, they shouldn't be too noisy and still ride ok on the highway. I'm mostly on the road, but I get into the woods every now and again. Should I stick with the trail grappler vs the terra?

Also, is anyone running 295 65 20 rather than 35 12.50 20? They are a little taller and a little narrower than the 35 12.50, heavier load range. I was just wondering if they ride nice?

I've got 295/70/18 trail graps. They're pretty aggressive and look super mean. There is some noise and vibrations at speeds below 15ish mph, only noticed when slowing down to or accelerating from a stop. Other than that they're great and ride nicer than the cooper discoverer atrs I had previously. I also drive about 200 miles every weekend doing 75mph on the turnpike and they ride great. Between the terras and trails, with terras you'll most likely get a longer life out of them and slightly better mpgs; With trails you'll get a more aggressive look, slightly less mpgs, few thousand less miles, and you'll have better traction off roading. Just take all that into consideration.

They arent necessarily a heavier load range just depends on what load range you buy.
If you are ever going to get off road i would just get Trail Grappeler.

The Trail Grapps have been great so far. I have a heavy Ram and I have not gotten stuck with them yet. I live in SoCal and have been to Montana once and Idaho twice with them. They have very decent highway manners for a mudder. You shouldn't be disappointed with the Trails. Besides, if you get a less aggressive tire, everytime you see someone with the Trails Grapplers you'll be disappointed you didn't get them.

Yea my buddy has trail graps and I get jealous everytime I see his truck. Plus I learned the hard way that my BFG A/Ts suck in anything more than some loose sand

Thanks guys. I think I'll regret it if I don't do the trail grapplers. I can deal with a little noise, I just can stand the shake anymore.

I meant the 295 65 20 are rated for 4080 lbs vs 3195 lbs with the 35 12.50 20.

I love my dick cepek fc-II's. I have never seen a pic that does them justice, in person they look amazing. They have a little bit of hum but I never notice it and they ride like street tires. Offroad they are unstoppable. I made it up all these trails in Cedar Hills which is deep, sticky mud, and there was tons of hills and stuff. My buddy's ranger got stuck and I pulled him out haha. I never came close to getting stuck it was great. However I busted a ball joint lol
