sry but i dont want to read thru all the 4.7 and hemi guys thoughts on their fuel mileage. my question is should i get better mileage than 6.5-7 mpg pulling a 41 ft 5th wheel weighing about 16000lbs? i wasnt driving like crazy or anything also truck is bone stock to my knowledge. just got the truck and it has 110,000 miles on it now thanks guys, new to dodge
I mean to me that would sound pretty close because you have to think 16,000 lbs is A LOT of weight. Then you have the aero drag caused by the trailer as well. I'm sure regearing the rear end would help bring that number up a little but not much. Maybe invest in a programmer?
That sounds kind of low. I know when my grandparents went cross country with their bone stock '06 dually diesel with 4.10s and a 14k lbs 5th wheel camper, they averaged 10 mpg, which still sounds kind of low but yours sounds extemely low. Especially when I've seen and ridden in diesels pulling over 10k lbs and still average mid teens.
