That doesn't look any longer than the stock shifter.

I want to extend mine by about 12", but haven't bothered to measure the diameter of the bar, plus I've been broke and jobless so can't afford a piece of bar to extend it with

 

But you can afford an overpriced aftermarket piece that would probably run at least twice as much as fabbing one yourself?
