Default worth buying?

Just test drove a 2005 2500 3/4 ton. hemi, 4x4 slt package, quad cab, 5 spd. manual. one owner. 46,500 miles. dealer wants $17,500......... has solid front axle, lots of power, geared low..... 55 in 4th gear is 2500 rpms...... i think it has a limited slip rear diff...... felt like it was trying to spin, but was grabbing.... 2 tone paint silver on gray.....running boards, very nice truck..... i feel it's a to good of deal to pass up from what ive seen of the truck market lately..... also id this the year dodge put the cylinder shut down on these hemis to help with fuel mpgs?? i'm gonna be looking at programmer if it is, i noticed the check engine light was on, but i forgot to do the key thing to see what code...... also, do the programmers only work when plugged into the obd2 connector? NY uses the obd2 connector for inspections, so if the light comes on when the programmer is not plugged in, then i'll still have to clean the oil ports on the mechanisms that shut down the cylinders.

Sounds like a great deal on the truck. Yes, chet is right, MDS started in 06. Not quite sure what your programmer question is. If you use a tuner, the tune will stay on the truck after you unplug your tuner from the port, is that what you mean? Check on that code for sure.

well, after a day and a half of serious thinking, and coming very close to saying no (i really don't want another payment) i decided to try for financing...... much to my suprise, i got it....... so i am now the owner of this gorgeous truck..... may take a while to get used to the room in the cab compared to my 03 dakota, but it handles and drives better i think, the size doesn't bother me, i drive a concrete mixer for a living, so i can prolly park this thing in a sardine can, but it's a deal i couldn't pass, and after 8 months of searching for a manual shift truck, i had to go for it. may never find another deal like this. thanks for the help guys!!! sure i'll be back on here with more questions on the hemi, seems i'm an old school guy dialed in on the old L.A. engines and the magum 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9s...... these 5.7s are a new world to me, with alot more power!! lol
