Ok I have read through a lot of post about the new (06-07) Hemi with MDS and exhaust issues.

I have a stock 2006 Ram 1500 SLT Hemi with the Thunder Road package.

I ordered a Superchips tuner before I found this site (not here yet)

The muffler shop near me offers Flomaster and Magnaflow mufflers.

I was thinking of having the "muffler only" installed leaving everything else in place. ie resonators & cat

My question is: Has anyoneinstalled just the muffler, and are you having problems/issues?

I went to a local muffler shop and had them put a single in dual out flowmaster 40series deltaflow exhaust on for $250. I know though that you will be fine if you just have them put in the muffler. Look for it to cost you anywhere from $100-$150

But I'm hoping someone with the same setup as I have will say "I installed the _____ muffler on my 2006 and haven't had a single problem!

More to follow on this I rekon.

 

I put on the flow 50 series and removed the rear reso. So easy a caveman can do it.

 

when i was getting my exhaust done the guy in front of me had a 06 dodge ram with the hemi as well. he got a flowmaster 40 series and left the front resonator on and removed the rear resonator and kept the stock tail pipe. it sounded pretty good. personally i would have put the 50series flowmaster on it though. flowmaster says the 50 is made for the HEMI

The muffler guy sold me on the same deal when I got there.

Flowmaster 50 with the rear resonator removed, but he had to order it.

I get er done this Thursday @ 0900!!!

hi just wondering will the flowmaster resonate through the cab like the borla does on the daytona ram the outside sound is great but on longer trips it'll drive ya nutz the new cherrybomb line is not supposed to resonate through the interior i want to put a little sound on my thunder road but dont want to be tortured on long rides any help?? thanks

 

I put a magnaflow 14579 muffler on my 06 I left both res. on. pretty quite but little to no mds sound! With the 50 and no rear res mds will sound like total crap, butyou'll find that out on thurs.

 

the flowmaster 50 series is pretty quiet in the cab when your going down a highway or something. its nice and loud when you step on it and sounds great too. when it revs at 1700-2000 down the highway you cant tell much. i haven't heard the 40 series but it will be louder than the 50 series.
