Default Grill Question - Help requested

Ok, I am ready to buy a grill now. I am thinking either a nice billet style or the mesh style. These are the 2 that I like. I see you can purchase the inserts to cover or replace the the factory set up (more so on the billet style), or you can purchase the grill as a whole. The pieces compared to the whole has a dramatic price difference though. I can buy the 3 piece billet style that I like for less than a $100 but if I buy the whole then the price jump a few hundred dollars. This is for the main part of the grill and the lower area right above the bumper. My question is, are the pieces compared to the whole kit any good. I have the SLT model so I kinda like the crome cross section of the current grill, I just want to get rid of the black portion and make it stand out a little more. I am just worried that if I buy the piece set up, that in a year the material that is used will lose it's luster and/or break. It says it uses airplane grade metals (which sounds good to a person who doesn't know that much about metal). I know I am not going to buy the snap over cover set up, if I buy the pieces, they will be replacing the stock setup by bolting on, not snapping into place. Does anyone have the pieces installed and are there any drawback compared to buying the grill as a whole?

Thanks ahead of time...

check www.lmctruck.com
I'm pretty sure their parts are OEM or better.

mine bolt over the factory honeycomb grill. I can only see the honeycomb if i'm standing about a foot infront of the truck, if i step back about 3 feet you can't even tell. I'm very happy with it so far, and with a little master formula they get a shine that would blind you

How long have you had yours on? Your setup is what I am leaning towards too.

Sounds good. I just found a stainless set up that bolts over the existing stock set up for $145. I think I am going to go with that as I know the stainless will be a little more reliable.

The kit I saw for the $145 included the little piece above the bumper. I also found the grill only for <$100, but I want both.
