16 year old insurance
Well he wants a cummins and if i can find one then great, butwe are looking for a hemi. My credit score is fine and he is plenty mature, I just wish they had a test to lower the rates. He drives my truck all the time, with and without me and he hasnt had a problem yet. Once the CEL came while he was on the way to walmart, and he putted his way home and came straight to me. It was just a fuel filter problem so no biggy, but he came and told me. He takes care of his stuff, and if he doesnt the truck will be gone in a heart beat. He has his heart set on a patriot blue color with 4x4 quad short bed w/ hemi. One of my best friends is the head of used cars at the dodge dealer ship so he is trying to scout me one. I was a little surprised though when I realized how much insurance was going to be a month for him.
If he's got the maturaty, give him the responsability. My dad put me under his insurance with the payments coming out of my pocket and that was without the car note. I also had the good grades and maturaty at that age, but sweating to keep up with all the payments and the upkeep on a used car was what really gave me a cautiousand safeattitude. He would think about it twice before messing around with the Hemi power knowing that he'lldestroy yourexcellent insurance history in addition to his own, not to mentionall of his own cash will go out the window.I am know a father of two and would do it just like my dad did for me.If he pays it with his own sweat , he would think twice before making a stupid move. I know how you feel both of my boys will be there soon. Good luck.
yeah, 300/month is very steep. im getting it for 60/month for myself on my parents' plan. and remember, california is far more expensive than it is in texas. i guess you just gotta keep searching and searching. the guys that sell insurance (my friend is one, but i dont get it from him, he was too expensive for not full coverage) work on commission, so they try to get as much money as they can. they CAN bring it down real cheap, but they wont budge because its "policy" so they cant do such a lewd act! lol. but, good luck finding something. hope it works out for ya!
A 16 year old driving a hemi is not wise, A 16 year driving something with a Slant 6 is, Hell, I would drive a slant 6 now and I'm 40 something !!!!
Thiers a lot of life ahead, don't spend it all before age 18.
I'm 18 now and I pay 500$ for my full coverage insurance.
I don't have a hemi BUT if he has the maturity and the responsiblity then let him have it. I mean there is no reason not to, and then that will put him to the test.
If he cares that much about your truck then I would love to see him with his. I know about that I dont even have a spec of dirt on it rather than get it close to be harmed in any way.
Put him to the test if he has the maturity and responsibilty that you say he has then I see no reason to get him it!
Good luck and tell him to clean it daily

Maybe its just my age, but from what Ive seen of teenage drivers lately, a 16 yr old with 350hp underfoot is scary....(no offense guys)

OK,
For those of you that did not read the quote in my reply I was responding to the person who said being 16 and having a powerful truck is a bad idea, I in no way said maturity affect insurance rates [8D]
As for kids scary on the road, well it is back to maturity. Young kids who act younger than their age, of course they act bad on the road, scary to borrow your term. The mature ones will pick and choose their spots, likeus "old" people do.
