16 year old insurance
My son is about to turn 16 and we are looking for a 2003-2005 quad cab 4x4 hemi and I was kinda wondering what the insurance going to be. He is going to get the good grade student discount, and the driversed discount. I am in texas btw. Any of you paying insurance for a 16 y/o with a hemi? How much a month?
well, im 19, 2007 HEMI, and for a year, i pay $700. full coverage. it has all the nicks and crannies on the coverage as well. i think its farmers insurance that we got. also, do you have anyother insurance for a house or something? thatll help a lot with a discount too.
Not sure what it would be in Texas. I know that in Colorado, the 5.7L engine on the 1500 is rated the same as a sports car - based on that I decided not to add my son to my vehicle (it would have killed the rates). He is a straight A student and did the driver's ed thing.... From what I read, the QC 1500 is considered to be a dangerous vehicle for inexperienced drivers and it automatically gets a lower rating.
Just my 2 cents.....

Maybe its just my age, but from what Ive seen of teenage drivers lately, a 16 yr old with 350hp underfoot is scary....(no offense guys)

Age has 0 to do with it. It is about maturity. I had a builtsmall block68 Mustang.

Go ahead and tell insurance companies that age has nothing to do with it. They will laugh until they cry.... Credit rating is important to the owner of the policy so unless his 16YO son is the owner of the policy it matters little, but credit scores are very important in insurance rates.....
