If mileage is a concern, keep it under 70. The 06-07 hemis have the MDS (run on 4 cylinders when 8 aren't needed). I get over 20 easily at 65 on flat ground. Heck the overhead (which is usually within a mile or two) puts me at about 23 if I use cruise at 30.

Yea, get what you want and drives the way you like. If the 4.7 feels good, go for it. The Hemi, around here anyway,is lowering re-sale due to the rising gas prices. There are a lot of them being traded in for cars or smaller trucks. Good news for those who want a Hemi!

That's why I picked up my truck so quickly just three weeks ago. [8D]

The dealer did some digging and there are a good handful of Thunder Road SLT 4x2 hemis in the area. Now I cant decide on color!

Right now its a toss up between the cool vanilla and the inferno red. The cool vanilla is $1500 more of options and overall looks real clean, but the inferno red is just so DEEP.

The red is a kick butt color. If the cool white is the "off perle white" then it is easy, go with the red. That off white just does not look good on the Ram. I like it on the 300, but for some reason does nothing for me on the Ram.

With the 20" chrome wheels and chrome side trim, the cool vanilla has a real upscale look like an Escalade. The color itself is not as impressive as the inferno red, but everything together looks great.

If the inferno red had a tan interior Id get that without a doubt. When it comes down to it I like most of them, I just cant decide what im going to like in five years.

Red all the way. I've seen the vanilla in person just a few days ago at the dealership. It is flat vanilla, not pearl or anything like that. Also, the top half of the front bumper is black plastic because Dodge couldn't get the black to not run through the vanilla paint. It just looks completely out of place.

a 23 thou 4x2 thunderroad used? cause the 4x2 thunder road one i have was stickerd at 34 thousand and i thought the redesign was comming in 09. maybe im wrong, but if there is a redesign in 08 you should get the 07 as cheap as ya can i guess cause ur not going to get any break on a 08 redesign.
haha...my dad just bought a 4x2 thunderroad ram for 23K...stickered at a little over 32K. brand new 07 with 13 miles...very nice price...

he has the hemi, 20" wheels, and 3.92 gears and its very quick...but then again we haven't drove a ram with the 4.7.

I work on both 4.7 and 5.7 motors, I would take the 5.7 motor any day of the week. Because it offers MDS and doesn't sludge up like the 4.7 L . But there are always pros and cons about both motors.
