Default 180° stat MPG Test

Here we go
Total City driving 10.2 miles (*Stop and go, after I topped off the tank)
Total I-95 driving 120 miles (75 to 80 MPH with a few 85s when I could get it)
Total Miles 130.2 miles (When I finally got to a gas pump)
Total Gas consumed 6.21 gal

So the way I got it figured is 21 MPG haulin *** on the Interstate and some city drivin thrown in too boot.
I am VERY Impressed !

*City driving included getting to the Interstate, stopping off in Daytona in Pre Race traffic, getting back on I-95, and finding the hotel before getting gas. Other than that I was screaming at 75 to 80 MPH

Very nice gas milage, wish I got those kind of numbers lol. I'm getting like 8-10mpg right now. Do they make those 180° stats for the 07's too?

Yes the one I got was for 03s to 07s. Not reccommended for stock truck tho.

I will repeat this test on the way home but prolly get same or better MPG cuz it will be a lil more down hillish.

Usually people get 180 deg. thermostats to combat lean conditions caused by a programmer/long tube header combo. Besides running your vehicle cooler, it also richens your A/F mixture a bit.

Well it's late and the lil cavewoman is asleep, so I thought I'd log on and bother ya'll.

Inan earlier post I stated I really did not notice a performance increase with the 180.
It's becomming a little more evident now. I seem to unintentionally peel out whenmaking a turn from a dead stop.

Could be me, I dunno.

Anywho, we are having a blast on our 13th anniversary. The wife is in to the whole Pirate thing so we had some professional pics done. They looked cool as hell. I almost bought a Roman Centurion Helmet, but after researching it I ended up ordering a whole damnoutfit off the net. Doh!

pappy,
i plan on getting a chip (same one you've got) and also a CAI, and i've got my exhaust right now.
would this be reccomended, or would it not be needed..

would running lean be something to worry about with these mods?

oh and happy anniversary!

Thanks Livetokite

I'd wait on the Programmer a little bit. Lets seehow this new Predator is going to do, hell if it rocks you will most certainly get a really good price on aFlashpaq because people will be wanting to unload em to get a Predator. If SC doesn't bring more options to the table, You won't be able to swing a dead cat withouthitting a guy trying to sell hisSC 3815. Hehe.

Nah don't worry you are prolly not gonna be running lean with yer mods.
