Default Spoke too soon dammit!!!

Knew i should have shut my mouth about the luck i had changing the rear diff fluid. Went to start the truck and now all i get is the stupid little blinky light and no engine turn over. I assume the battery has gone to poopie but i wanted to know what you all are replacing your stock batteries with? I need the bigger 750 cca one so i was thinking about a red top optima. Also, if i recall when the alt is charging the meter should read 14+ volts correct? And when the alt is not it usually reads 12+ ?

optima is a good choice for a battery. The truck will register 14.4V when running and 12V when the engine is off, give or take a little bit. So you got that part correct m8. hope this helps.

Went ahead and got the yellow top thats rated @ 750 cca. Hella expensive but i run one in my crawler and have always liked them. Kinda a pain in the *** to situate in the factory location. May fab up a custom mount when i get moved.

Don't look at it as a break down, look at it as an opportunity to upgrade.

It's funny how all the " UPGRADES " i've done lately have only come as a result of reading this forum. Glad i'm here though. Saved me a lot of money in the long run.

My battery registered 13.58 volts when i tested it but it was bought off the shelf with out me pre charging it. Could the alt be going bad? Or is 13.58 acceptable?
