That is fantastic! I would be really happy with that. I'm hoping that after my first oil change and I go synthetic my mileage will contine to improve.

Marv, what did you use to get the rear diff. cover off? I tried a 12 mm socket and those bolts are so soft I rounded the first one out. [:@]I want to put a mag-hytech cover on. Also on the tranny do you have a manuel or auto? Thanks

Always use a 6 point socket or box end wrench to Break the bolts lose they grip the flat part of the bolt as for my self I try not to use 12 point sockets as much can they have been know to round off the points of the bolts the only contact point is the corners of the bolts, I have to deal with Yawhoo's every day at work that round off bolts and screws, I am in the rework aircraft industry.

Pry off the cover with putty knive.

Not to be a smart A" you know keep on adding Rear end fluid untill it starts comming of of the fill hole most aftermarket rear end covers hold more oil than stock cover, I also have found that Brake cleaner works the best for spraying out the rear end leave no resadue like carb cleaner, mop up the rest with paper towels.

Stock The rear end holds 3 Qt's.

A rotory wire wheel on a drill motor works good for removing the old sealent off the rear end housing make sure the mating surfaces are very clean and dry before resealing the new cover back on tighten the bolts in a criss cross pattren so you dont' tweck the cover going back on step tourqe it back on.

I have a manuel 6 speed, Holds 3 Qt's of ATF-4 or AMSOIL ATF, Red Line ATF-C.

I not to sure of Royal Purple I read so soreveiws about Royal Purple.

Hey thanks Marv. Thing is the way the lip is around the differential housing it's really tough to get a good bite with a wrench. I will go to Harbor Frieght today and see if I can get the right tool. The Mag-hytech cover holds 5 qts. and I'm going synthetic. It also has a dipstick in the top to check the fluid level and a magnetic drain plug on the bottom. Once I put this on I will never have to mess with taking it off again.

On the 6 speed tranny. My truck is brand new so I won't have to mess with changing the fluid for a while. However, I know how to do it but damn that filler hole is really close to the frame of the truck. It looks very difficult to put fluid in through that little filler hole because there is not enough room to tilt a quart of oil up.

Okay, will look for that today as well while I'm out.

Eltucap the manuel says to use ATF-4 which surprised me too. It says not to change it until like 100,000 miles or something but mine will get done in half that time.
