Do you think the custom SCT programmer would be better than just going with an SC 3815 or 3950 for my truck? Haven't looked into them much. All I have right now is an intake and exhaust, and am planning on getting the fastman TB and SC in the next few weeks.

if you do not plan on doing heavy internals mods than you really do not need the SCT. for normal bolt ons ( exhaust, throttle body, headers, cai, efan and even some mild cams) the sc 3815 will be great for you. i would only go to the sct if you plan to do more internals...

Airram has a flex-z-lite kit, but I see a lot of people buying fans on e-bay from a ford taurus 3.8 for lik $50-$100 and than buying the fan controller. It is a much cheaper option and what I'm going to try as soon as I get the cash. There is a post in the DIY section on what was done. Here is the link that I found. He said when he bought his controller he went with the more expensive one so he didn't draw too many amps off of it and burn it up.

my 2005 dakota with the 4.7 runs high 13's in the 1/4, running 206 cams, ported heads, 70 mm throttle body, larger y-pipe, k/n fipk, 180 stat. 3 inch single catback, superchips tuner, 4.10 gears and a 125 shot of nitrous. its nice to pull up on a charger r/t and when the light turns green, just walk away from them.

I have a 2008 4.7 with an Spectre CAI, baby cams, Flowmaster 40 duals, and the governer is taken off. Itd pretty quick, it keeps up with or beats HEMIs.

my friend has an older model 4.7, completely stock with a cam, and it beats SRT10s.

im gonna try to find out where he got that camshaft and post it
